New! 2019 Print Exchange

The Southwest Print Fiesta Print Exchange is open to all artists who will physically be in attendance at the event this year. Participants will create a printed edition using any form of printmaking, including but not limited to: lithograph, linoleum cut, wood block print, etching, screenprint, monoprint, digital mediums, etc. Each participant will receive an exchange portfolio of all other participants’ prints to take home! Your work from this exchange will be on display Saturday evening at Power and Light Press during a small meet and greet for participants of the exchange and the Vendor market.

YOU MUST BE PRESENT AT PRINT FIESTA TO REGISTER FOR THIS EXCHANGE!

** WE WILL NOT SHIP PORTFOLIOS **

PAPER: The paper size is 8” x 8”. All paper must be archival.

INTERLEAVING: All editions must be interleaved with glassine or equivalent archival protective sheets (also 8” x 8”). Please do not use newsprint, bags, tracing paper, wax paper, or mylar as interleaving. Please prepare your edition with interleaving before you turn it in. We will not have these materials on hand. Editions without interleaving will not be accepted into the collection.

EDITION SIZE: The edition size will be based on the number of registered participants. You will be notified on September 6th of the final edition size. All portfolios will consist of one print from each participant.

REGISTRATION: All artists must pre-register to participate in this exchange. Please email jamie@powerandlightpress.com by September 1 to confirm your spot so we can determine the final edition size. Please provide your full name, print medium, and title, if applicable. The Participation Form must be completed in full and turned in with your prints on Friday, October 11.

COST: $20 / participant. This fee covers the creation of portfolio cases and printed colophon, as well as logistical costs associated with organization, exhibition, and distribution of portfolios. If you are not able to complete your edition before Friday, October 11, please notify us immediately. No refunds will be offered.

FORMATTING: Please number your prints in the lower left corner based on edition size - for example, if the number of participants is 20, please number all prints 1/20, 2/20, 3/20, etc. Please sign in the bottom right hand corner and follow formatting below when signing your edition:

DROP OFF: Friday, October 11 (10am-6pm) Power and Light Press 601 N. Bullard St, Suite F.

At drop off, portfolio participants will be checked against the pre-registration roster. All editions will be checked for compliance with the portfolio guidelines for media, size, interleaving, and dryness. All editions must include completed Participation Form. Participants will be issued a receipt that must be presented at the time of portfolio pick-up. The portfolio organizers reserve the right to refuse entry of any submission that fails to conform to the portfolio guidelines. No refund will be offered if the edition does not meet the requirements for inclusion.

PICK UP: Saturday, October 12 (5pm - 8pm) or Sunday, October 13 (11am - 5pm) Power and Light Press 601 N. Bullard St. Suite F.

Portfolios must be picked up at Power and Light Press either at the meet & greet on Saturday, October 12 (5-8pm) or on Sunday, October 13 (11am-5pm). You must present your Print Exchange receipt to collect your portfolio! We will not be able to ship portfolios, so please arrange to have someone pick yours up if you can’t make it to either of the pick up windows.
