Open Press Mini Print Workshop & Exchange

from $150.00

Instructor: Melissa Woods & Camille Davis

Date: Sunday, October 12, 2025
Time: 11am - 4pm

Workshop Description:
In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the Open Press Mini Etching Press, a fully functional 3D printed press that makes printmaking easy and accessible at home or on the go. The workshop will start with an inspirational demo to get ideas flowing, and give participants all the tools they need to create their own mini etchings on plexiglass, then play with ink and technique to fine tune their creations before they execute a small edition of mini prints to exchange with the other participants.

No prior printing experience is required! Participants are encouraged to prepare for this process by visiting the Open Press website and checking out the print exchanges from years past and practice small scale sketching if they feel inclined.

The workshop leaders are avid artists and nurturing humans to get you over any creative hurdles and hesitations. The workshop will be held at Cactus Flower Studios and School of Yoga, so there will be space to move and stretch when you need a break from all things mini!

All students will be provided with their own Open Press mini etching press for use during the workshop, and have the option to purchase their press to keep for an additional cost. If you know you’d like to purchase a press, please choose that option at checkout!

Please note: the location of this workshop is on the second floor. It is not wheelchair accessible, and may be challenging to folks with mobility limitations.
