Chine Collé Monoprints

$150.00

Instructor: Becci Spruill

Date: Friday, October 10, 2025
Time: 10am - 4pm

Workshop Description:
In this workshop, we will explore the process of collé (sometimes called chine collé). This is a printmaking process that uses thin paper and other materials to add color and texture to printed images. While collé is often used to add information to traditional etching and lithography, it can also be a method of image-making in and of itself.

Using different materials, textures and colors, we will create both figurative and abstract monoprints. From traditional eastern papers to natural materials like leaves and flowers, to magazine cut-outs, old drawings and prints, and more, we'll create complex images that rely heavily on shape and line. We'll discuss different methods of combining these materials with drawing, painting, and printmaking.

No matter your skill level, monoprinting is a straightforward and accessible way to bring your images to life.
