Please join us for a special presentation by our featured visiting artist, Amos Paul Kennedy, Jr! A self-described “humble negro printer” Kennedy is internationally recognized for his type-driven messages of social justice and Black power, emblazoned in rhythmically layered and boldly inked prints made for the masses. Kennedy issues fearless statements on race, capitalism, history, and politics - along with plenty of witty truisms - in his exuberant, colorful and one-of-a-kind posters. -Letterform Archive

A local artist and outdoor enthusiast will guide a small group on a beginner-friendly hike in the Gila Wilderness.

Print Rally!
MERGE ART SPACE, 302 N Bullard St
Drop in and watch artists create a small edition of prints from start to finish in a two-hour window. As the prints are hung to dry, they are also available for viewing and immediate purchase. Come watch prints get made right before your very eyes!

Workshop: Collage Altars
LOCATION TBD (downtown Silver City)
FREE drop-in workshop for all ages. Kalli Arte Collective will guide participants in building personal altars through collage making. The workshop invites participants to create their own altar collage using silk screen patterns and designs. Everyone will receive a sheet of printed images to create a tribute to someone they love. They will also have the option to add a photo at home or bring one with them if they'd like to include it during the session. It is a great introduction to art where community and art come together in a stress free and easy kind of way.

Our visiting artists, Kalli Arte Collective, will share images and conversation about their work.
Kalli Arte is a family art collective based in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. Started by two self-taught artists, Adriana Carranza and Alfonso Aceves, and their four children, Kalli Arte is dedicated to speaking directly to their community and beyond through print exhibitions, public installations, and workshops.
