Meet our Instructors
Amos Paul Kennedy, Jr
Amos Paul Kennedy, Jr., is internationally recognized for his type-driven messages of social justice and Black power, emblazoned in rhythmically layered and boldly inked prints made for the masses. Kennedy issues fearless statements on race, capitalism, history, and politics—along with plenty of witty truisms—in his exuberant, colorful, and one-of-a-kind posters and handbills.

Kalli Arte Collective
In 2004, we founded Kalli Arte Collective as a way to express ourselves, explore our shared identity, and create a space where our family’s voice could grow together. Our collective is made up of our family — myself, Alfonso Aceves, my wife Adriana Carranza, and our four children: Sara, Ione, Diego, and Emilio. While Adriana and I are the grounding force behind much of our work, our creative practice is truly a collaborative effort that reflects the ideas, energy, and dreams of our entire family.
As community artists, we believe art should be accessible and speak directly to the people it represents. Printmaking, in particular, has been one of the most powerful ways for us to communicate with and engage our community. It allows us to share stories, spark dialogue, and build connections that go beyond the surface. Our work reflects our shared experiences — our struggles, joys, and triumphs — and acts as a mirror for the realities of our neighborhood. Whether we’re addressing social justice issues or celebrating our cultural heritage, our art has always been about resilience, identity, and the ties that hold us together.
Kathryn Hunter
Kathryn Hunter is an artist & printer behind Blackbird Letterpress since 2003, creating shaped, movable letterpress cards & notebooks. Working in mixed media & printmaking, her artwork is represented by LeMieux Galleries in New Orleans. She illustrated Everyday Wild, published in 2025. She has taught workshops widely at universities, conferences, Penland School of Crafts, & her own printshop.
Lauren Harms
Lauren Harms is co-founder and chief creative person at Next Chapter Studio. NCS is a design and print shop in Albuquerque specializing in Risograph printing – creating greeting cards, stationery and art prints. In addition to manufacturing stationery, the studio hosts workshops and a small retail shop. Lauren started printing in 2017 at the SVA Risolab, and has a background in book publishing.
Linda Chappel
Linda Chappel’s work focuses on landscape, wildlife and the myths that humans form to mediate our interactions with the environment. Although she has worked in a range of media, her current work is primarily 2D printmaking, painting and mixed media.
Her formal studies began at the University of Madison, Wisconsin where she was fortunate to study with Dan Reitz, George Cramer and Truman Lowe. She graduated from Madison with a degree in the Fine Arts in 1986. She was awarded an MA in Art History in 1996 and specialized in Mexican art history and 19th century landscape painting. Linda is an instructor in Art and Art History at Tohono O’odham Community College in Sells, Arizona. She shows her art work regionally in the Southwest and was selected for the Arizona Biannual in 2024. Her most recent project is the MERGE art community space, which opened in Silver City in 2026.
Mary Bruno
Mary C. Bruno is a letterpress printer, artist, and community-builder based in small-town Saint Joseph, MN where she runs Bruno Press—a one-woman print shop powered by 100-year-old presses, hand-set type, and a deep love for ink, paper, and people.
Mary’s work lives at the intersection of tradition and experimentation. She is especially drawn to reduction printing—carving, printing, carving again, and committing to each layer without looking back. It’s a process that requires equal parts planning and letting go, which pretty much sums up her entire approach to art and life.
Beyond the studio, Mary is passionate about bringing people into the process. Through print parties, workshops, and community events, she invites folks of all backgrounds to get their hands inky and experience the magic of slow, tactile making. Whether she’s teaching a room full of first-time printers or collaborating on large-scale installations, her goal is the same: to create connection, spark curiosity, and remind people that making something by hand still matters.
Mike Kimball
Mike Kimball is a Santa Fe artist who loves teaching about printmaking and art! He has an extensive background as both an artist and art instructor, and has been a printmaker for over 30 years. As an instructor in the Printmaking and Book Arts Department of the Santa Fe Community College he teaches courses in silkscreen printing, monotype, relief and intaglio printing processes.
Adriana Sánchez Alexander & Isidro Pérez García
Isidro Pérez García is a cross-border multidisciplinary artist working with immigrant diasporic communities from México. Adriana Sánchez Alexander is a SoCal-based writer and artist whose work focuses on community art and narrative transformation. In 2012, alongside other writers and artists, they started Cartonera Santanera as a way to tell different kinds of stories about and for their community.
Karin Eberhardt
Karin Eberhardt loves to cut, paste and color, but most of all to see texture and shape emerge at the far end of the press. In addition to collograph, Karin works in letterpress and book arts. She was mentored in printmaking at Waterfall Arts, a community art center in Belfast ME, through a Maine Crafts Association grant. A fan of Sarah Ross-Thompson, Karin is thrilled to share with you a workshop curriculum passed on by this skilled collographer.
